The space

Formerly Stables, the cottage has undergone a high quality conversion, providing an immaculate finish and crafted with the utmost focus on comfort and luxury.

The main living space includes a fully equipped kitchen with fitted oven, hob, microwave, fridge-freezer and dishwasher providing everything you need to prepare some snacks.. or cook up and serve a full Sunday roast.

The dining area with reclaimed timber table and plush velvet chairs is a really comfortable space for a formal meal, relaxing brunch or to play some of the card or board games provided.

The lounge area has a classic leather sofa and comfortable armchair with footstool looking out to the countryside views. The 50″ Roku smart TV provides 60+ freeview digital channels and is also set up to enable access to all your own apps like Netflix, Amazon and Disney if you wish. There’s an Amazon Echo smart speaker for music too.

With views out to the countryside through the full length window, the bedroom hosts a king-size bed (5ft) with fluffy Egyptian cotton duvet to make sure you are comfortable and cozy. Each bedside table has a reading light, power sockets, USB and an induction phone charger which works on most smart phones. There’s a dressing table/workstation, wardrobe, drawers and a large wall mounted TV for lazy mornings.

For convenience, the shower-room can be accessed from both the bedroom and hallway. In addition to the normal bathroom fittings, we have a mirrored cabinet with light, shaver/toothbrush socket and a fantastic Bluetooth speaker to make your rainfall power shower even more enjoyable!

The cottage has a private, enclosed outdoor space to the rear which is accessed via patio doors from the living area. Space to sit and enjoy morning coffee by the burn, so make use of the Lavazza coffee maker and eco pods!

For a truly unique relaxing experience step out into our enclosed pergola with cast-iron roll-top tub, designed to provide a natural, outdoor hot-soak experience, even in the rain! There are complimentary bathrobes and slippers for your comfort.

Guest access

The Stables is a self-contained, detached cottage located within the grounds of the main house, with private access, parking and secure outdoor space. We are in a semi-rural location, situated on the edge of the village.


Things to note

Houston lies in a naturally beautiful area of countryside south of the River Clyde in West Renfrewshire. The village is the centre of the civil parish of Houston and Killellan and has a long history, with records going back to the 12th century, and archaeological remains from the Stone Age. Despite its small size, Houston has 2 popular local pubs: The Houston Inn and The Fox and Hounds which people travel some distances to come to.

Well-behaved dogs are welcome.

Please ensure they do not go on the furniture and are not left unattended in the property.


Our fabulous countryside setting means there are numerous walking and cycling options on the doorstep.


Within a couple of miles you can enjoy horse riding, golf, tennis and spa options. However, if it’s just a friendly pint in a pub then the village has two only 5 minutes walk away.. both serve food and often have live music at the weekends.


Public transport is available to and from Glasgow city centre by bus or train, the stations are a 10 minute drive away. It’s about 25 minutes by car depending on the time of day.
We are only 10 minutes drive from Glasgow Airport.


30 minutes drive north will take you to beautiful Loch Lomond, and 30 minutes south you have ‘Rabbie Burns’ Ayrshire and all the wonderful links golf courses like Royal Troon on the coast.


Explore day trip destinations like Edinburgh, Stirling, Perth, and Oban within an hour or two drive. All are also easily accessible via public transport from Glasgow City Centre.


Note: there is no EV charging option at the property however, there is a local charging station in the village.

The property sits off a B road in farmland between villages. Farm traffic, horseboxes and tractors pass by regularly. The national speed limit applies to the B road so there can be some traffic noise during peak times.
